Catherine Toth, Writer
Catherine Toth is an independent writer with several decades’ experience creating proposals, reports and analytic pieces for international, nongovernmental organizations. She has deep knowledge of the development enterprise and NGO operations; combined with her experience in numerous development sectors in dozens of countries, she is able rapidly to contextualize, analyze and synthesize information and present it in clear and persuasive written pieces. Catherine often co-designs projects as part of the proposal writing process, and is especially adept at combining quantitative and qualitative evidence to tell a rounded story of development work as experienced by participants and by practitioners. Catherine has lived for several years each in Mali, Mozambique and Ethiopia; has worked in 26 African (and several Asian) countries; and frequently travels abroad from her current home in coastal California to work with the dozen or so NGOs that contract her services.
